Hoffman Estates youth football teams needs help for trip to nationals

The Hoffman Estates Redhawks Pop Warner football team, which has won two Illinois State Championships and Midwest Regional Championships, is seeking some community support for its trip to the National Championships in Orlando, Florida from Dec. 1 to 8.

The Redhawks have two squads that need to raise funds quickly for the planned trip. Many programs around the country are funded by their local park districts or city. The Redhawks are self-funded and turn no child away.

The cost per player for the National Championships averages $1,200, which includes transportation, lodging and food. Many of the kids will be driven 22 hours in vans to help cut costs.
