Bragg appointed to seat on Buffalo Grove Park District board

The Buffalo Grove Park District board has appointed Tracy Bragg to fill the vacancy left by the departure of former Commissioner Jack Schmerer.

Bragg will fill Schmerer's term until April 2019, when the final two years of the term will be up for election.

An eight-year resident of Buffalo Grove, Bragg has worked in the health care industry for more than 20 years, according to the park district. She joined Northwestern Medicine - Lake Forest in April 2018, where she is the employee health coordinator, and oversees multiple phases of the occupational health clinical program.

After moving to Buffalo Grove from Decatur, Bragg's first job in the area was at the park district, where she worked for a year in the marketing department as the partnerships coordinator, securing corporate sponsorship agreements and representing the district within the business community.

"I thought this was the perfect opportunity for me to give back to the community," Bragg said in an announcement of the appointment. "Between our family participating in programs, and having worked there part-time and getting to know a lot of the staff back then, I know firsthand just how wonderful the park district is."

Bragg, who was one of four candidates considered for the post, is the wife of Buffalo Grove Village Manager Dane Bragg.
