Palatine library presents program on Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan

The Palatine Public Library District next week will host a program for adults called "Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan: The Grandeur and the Grace," focusing on the former Duchess of Marlborough.

Set for 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, the free program will feature historian Olivier Lebleuof from La Rochelle, France, who will discuss Balsan, the daughter of American railroad magnate William Kissam Vanderbilt, from her early life in an arranged marriage to social activism in France and beyond.
