One Stride at a Time
The Gateway Foundation is hosting its third annual One Stride At a Time run/walk to end drug overdose at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Hastings Lake Forest Preserve, 21155 W. Gelden Road, Lake Villa. The adult 5K is followed at 9:30 a.m. by a 1K youth run/walk. Proceeds support Gateway's Naloxone Distribution Program and the Lake County Opioid Initiative. Since 2014, Naloxone has reversed more than 200 potentially-fatal overdoses in Lake County. Gateway is the country's largest, nonprofit treatment provider specializing in substance abuse treatment.
