One hurt in 5-vehicle crash in Schaumburg

A five-vehicle collision at the intersection of Schaumburg and Plum Grove roads in Schaumburg Wednesday morning caused a Schaumburg woman in her 60s to be hospitalized and snarled traffic for a significant period afterward, police said Thursday.

A Palatine man in his 30s was issued a citation for failure to yield while turning left, but the report on the collision was not yet completed Thursday, Schaumburg police Sgt. Christy Lindhurst said.

Police responded after receiving 911 calls about the crash at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, she added.

No further information was available about the hospitalized woman's condition Thursday, and no other injuries were reported in the crash, Lindhurst said.
