'Heavy damage' but no injuries in Fox River Grove fire

There were no injuries in a house fire Thursday evening at 9512 Byrne Drive in Fox River Grove, according to Fox River Grove Fire Department Deputy Chief Eldee Jackson.

The Fox River Grove Fire Department responded to the fire at 5:54 p.m., they found both occupants outside and heavy smoke coming from the home, according to Jackson.

While the department hasn't done an official damage assessment, Jackson said there was "heavy damage."

The Fox River Grove Fire Department received assistance from the Cary, Barrington Countryside, Huntley and McHenry fire departments, Jackson said.
