Grace Period registration, voting available in Cook County

Grace Period registration and voting for the Nov. 6 election began Wednesday, Cook County Clerk David Orr said.

Paper-based voter registration ended Tuesday, but eligible voters who missed the deadline can still register online until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 or in person until Monday, Nov. 5.

Voters who choose to register in-person at an early voting site must provide two forms of identification, one which shows the voter's current address, and vote in person at that time. The clerk's 52 early voting sites are open Oct. 22 through Nov. 5 and can be found at cookcountyclerk.com/service/early-voting-locations.

Until Oct. 22, eligible voters can vote early only at the Cook County Clerk's main office, 69 W. Washington, Chicago.
