Two hurt in Beach Park crash

Lake County authorities are investigating a Beach Park traffic crash that left a Zion man and Chicago woman injured, authorities said Tuesday. Lake County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Green Bay and Yorkhouse roads for the crash Sunday about 10:23 p.m., authorities said in a news release. They found a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer and a black Kia Sportage with heavy crash damage. A preliminary investigation shows the Kia was turning south onto Green Bay from Yorkhouse when it was struck on the driver's side by the Trailblazer, which was headed north. The 38-year-old male driver of the Trailblazer was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan with nonlife-threatening injuries, and the 29-year-old female driver of the Sportage was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries. The crash is under investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact the Lake County sheriff's office at (847) 549-5200.
