District 62 to hold six-week parent education course

Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 will host a six-week parent education course, "Parenting the Love and Logic Way." There is no cost to participate in the workshop, which is open to all District 62 families.

"This course will teach you a fun and practical approach to raising wonderful kids," Chippewa School Social Worker Peter Martin said in a news release. "Love and logic provides simple and practical techniques to help parents and caregivers have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids."

Courses will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 29 at Chippewa Middle School's Library Media Center 123 N. 8th Ave., Des Plaines. The course will teach parents about the two rules of love and logic, the anticipatory consequence, ways to neutralize arguing and much more.
