Vehicle stolen outside Carpentersville pizzeria found in Chicago
A pizza delivery vehicle reported stolen Wednesday in Carpentersville has been found in Chicago, where police say it was potentially involved in a crime, authorities said.
A 2014 Jeep belonging to a Rosati's Pizza delivery driver had been left running with doors unlocked behind the restaurant at 117 N. Kennedy Drive, Police Chief Michael Kilbourne said. The driver went outside about 1:35 p.m. to find the vehicle missing.
South Barrington police spotted the Jeep but were unable to stop it, Kilbourne said. After 4 p.m., the village was notified that Chicago police were holding the vehicle in their custody because it might have been involved in a crime.
No suspect has been found, Kilbourne said. Details about the possible crime have not been released.
