District 26 seeks two new board members

River Trails Elementary District 26 in Mount Prospect is looking for two new school board members following recent resignations.

Julia Nemcek, a 5-year board member, announced this week she is stepping down. That followed 17-year board member Linda Linder's announcement last month that she also is leaving.

The remaining board members are accepting applications for those interested in being appointed to the two open seats. The forms - due back by 4 p.m. Friday - are available at rtsd26.org and at the district's administrative offices, 1900 E. Kensington Road in Mount Prospect. The board will conduct interviews before making the appointments.

The person appointed to fill the remainder of Linder's term will serve until the April 2019 election. Nemcek's term expires in 2021.
