See 'The Skin of our Teeth' performed at Oakton Community College

Thornton Wilder's classic play, "The Skin of Our Teeth," will be presented Oct. 4-7 and Oct. 11-14, at Oakton Community College's Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

A winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, "The Skin of Our Teeth" focuses on George and Maggie Antrobus, a couple from New Jersey who have been married for 5,000 years. Combining farce, burlesque, satire and comic strip elements, the play depicts a family as it narrowly escapes one end-of-the-world disaster after another.

Opening night is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, with a special $5 preview. Performances are also scheduled 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. The play concludes its run with shows at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.
