North Aurora man charged with gun possession

A North Aurora man and gang member was charged with two gun possession charges, authorities said Tuesday.
Michael A. Distacio, 20, of the 600 block of Thompson Lane, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a gang member and with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after police found a 9 mm handgun in his vehicle.
An undercover police officer saw Distacio put a handgun into his waist band on August 13, according to a post on the Aurora Police Department Facebook page. After that, investigators stopped the pickup truck he was driving at Lake Street and Indian Trail and searched it.
Distacio is being held in Kane County lockup in lieu of $250,000 bail, according to police.
