Explore Palatine shopping event set for Sept. 8

Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce is spearheading a special event to encourage residents to shop in the village. Set for Sept. 8, businesses and community organizations will be invited to participate in Explore Palatine and encouraged to let residents know they are taking part in it by hosting sales, specials or simply by displaying a yellow balloon outside of their locations on this date. "Local businesses employ our residents and sales taxes go back into supporting the entire village, so shopping local not only helps businesses and employees thrive, it contributes to strengthening our community," said Gale Cohen-DeMarco, the event co-chair and owner of SportClips in Palatine. Social media use of #ExplorePalatine @PalatineChamber is being encouraged.
