Mount Prospect Fall Fest, Oktoberfest returns Oct. 12-13

The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association hosts its annual Fall Fest and Oktoberfest on Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13, at the intersection of Emerson Street and Busse Avenue.

Oktoberfest will kick off at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 with live entertainment in a heated tent and German food and beverages. Phenix German Band will perform traditional German tunes as well as favorite covers.

This year's featured beers include Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest and local craft "Fest Bier" by Scorched Earth. Authentic German food will be served by several vendors, including Mrs. P and Me, Central Continental Bakery and Completely Nuts.

The Fall Festival runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 13, with activities including hay rides, pony rides, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, crafts and balloons, and the famous never-ending trick-or-treat candy line.

Oktoberfest resumes at 4 p.m. with more music, food and beverage until 11 p.m.
