Fisherman who drowned near Libertyville identified

A man who drowned while fishing near Libertyville Saturday has been identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Bishop of McCullom Lake, according to the Lake County coroner's office.

Bishop had been fishing at the Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville about 1:30 p.m. when he fell in the water. His body was recovered at about 4 p.m., according to Chief of Rangers John Tannahill.

Officials said preliminary autopsy results indicate Bishop drowned but said toxicology results are pending.
