Photo contest's focus is Arlington Heights events

The Arlington Heights Arts Commission invites submissions of photographs celebrating community events as part of its 9th annual photography competition.

With the theme "Celebrating our Arlington Heights Community" in mind, images should capture events such as Frontier Days, the Fourth of July parade, Mane Event, tree-lighting ceremony or Santa Run, officials said.

Entries will be judged in three areas: technical, creativity and interest. The winning photograph will be enlarged, framed and displayed for at least a year in village hall.

Each photographer may submit up to three entries, and the contest is open to all. The entry form, available at vah.com, is due by Jan. 25, 2019.
