'Hey Nonny' music venue opens Oct. 18 in Arlington Heights

The planned gastropub/music venue Hey Nonny in downtown Arlington Heights has announced its opening date as Thursday, Oct. 18, with a grand opening weekend Oct. 25 - Oct. 27.

Workers have been making interior renovations to the 3,974-square-foot first-floor space of the building at 10 S. Vail Ave., where a 24-foot-wide retractable acoustic wall will be able to separate or combine the 150-person capacity music room and 66-seat gastropub. The venue, with an 18-foot wide stage and grand piano, will be open for ticketed concerts six nights a week, featuring jazz, rock, blues, country, reggae, classical and folk. Online sales begin Aug. 2 at heynonny.com.

"We are thrilled to bring the first music venue of its kind to the heart of downtown Arlington Heights," co-founder Chip Brooks said in a news release Tuesday. "Co-founder Chris Dungan and I got tired of driving 45 minutes to Chicago or Evanston for a great music venue, so we're building one close to home."
