BeachFest returns to Round Lake Beach July 12-15

The village of Round Lake Beach will host its annual BeachFest Thursday through Sunday, July 12-15. Festival hours are 3-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1-11 p.m. Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

BeachFest takes place at the Cultural & Civic Center of Round Lake Beach, 2007 Civic Center Way.

Thursday opens the festival with the carnival only. In addition to carnival rides, subsequent days feature live musical performances, family-friendly activities, food vendors and a beverage tent.

Two stages will present live performances Friday through Sunday. The Main Stage will feature acts like the Brass Buckle Band at 8 p.m. Friday, Modern Day Romeos at 8 p.m. Saturday, and La Lujosa Banda Alegre at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Cultural Stage will offer performances like Lake County-based band Vivid Vision at 5:30 p.m. Friday, a Battle of the Bands at noon Saturday, and previous BeachFest Battle of the Bands winners Here for the Summer Collective at 7 p.m. Sunday.

There will also be a Children's Pavilion offering entertainment for young people on Saturday and Sunday. Planned attractions include Disney Princesses from 1-5:30 p.m. Saturday and 3-7:30 p.m. Sunday and karate demonstrations at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Saturday. A petting zoo will also be open on the festival grounds from 1-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
