  Reigning 2017 champion hot dog eater Dominick Deslauriers, 38, of Libertyville downed a record 13 hot dogs in 2017, but this year broke his own record and the beat the rest of the competitors by eating 14 plain dogs and won a hundred bucks at Mundelein Community Days on Friday. His technique is to eat the hotdog separate from the bun then soak the bun in water then slide it down. Next to him is Jacob Aleman, 22, of Mundelein who finished a close second.
