Learn about Aspen Drive Library expansion
The Cook Memorial Public Library District board will meet Tuesday for an architectural presentation regarding the planned Aspen Drive Library expansion in Vernon Hills. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. A $6.75 million expansion at the Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, is planned. Half the 15,000-square-foot addition will be at the ground level of the building, and the other half will be a basement that, for now, will be left unfinished and used for storage. Funding will come from savings, a loan and other fundraising efforts. A tax increase isn't part of the plan. Product Architecture + Design, a Chicago firm, is handling the project.
