Inaugural Chicago Northwest Family Day set for June 16 at Woodfield Mall

More than a dozen suburban entertainment venues and attractions have signed up to take part in the inaugural Chicago Northwest Family Day scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, in the Grand Court at Woodfield Mall.

Hosted by Meet Chicago Northwest, the official destination marketing organization for eight Northwest suburbs, the free event will include activities, games, crafts and the opportunity to meet and take photos with mascots from some of the area's family attractions.

The first 250 children ages 3 to 8 to arrive will receive a special goody bag they can use to visit each attraction and fill with gifts, discount coupons and information.

Attractions participating include: Arlington International Racecourse; Blocks to Bricks; Brookfield Zoo; FireZone; Laugh Out Loud; Legoland Discovery Center; Level 257; Mastermind Escape Games; Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament; Pump It Up of Schaumburg; Rainbow Falls & Pirates Cove; Rainforest Cafe; Spring Valley Nature Center & Heritage Farm; Trickster Art Gallery; and Woodfield Mall.
