Yorkville man killed in motorcycle crash on I-355 near Lisle

A 23-year-old man died early Wednesday morning after striking a light pole on Interstate 355 near Lisle, Illinois State Police say.

Nicholas A. Rodriguez, of Yorkville, was driving a green 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Interstate 88 and took the exit for I-355 southbound to Ogden Avenue about 3:53 a.m., police said.

He lost control of his motorcycle and hit a light pole just past Toll Plaza 81, police said. Rodriguez died from injuries at the scene, police said.

He was not wearing a helmet, Illinois State Police Trooper David Roman said. Speed may have been a factor in the crash, Roman said.

The exit ramp to Ogden was shut down for about four hours Wednesday.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
