Barrington Road lane closures near tollway to start Wednesday

Extended lane closures are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday and continue into mid-May on southbound Barrington Road at the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway in Hoffman Estates, tollway officials said Tuesday.

Construction signs will be put in place to alert drivers in advance of the lane closures. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in some areas and delays are expected.

The closures are necessary to safely accommodate traffic and provide a work zone allowing for repair work and new concrete to cure.

Weather permitting, two lanes on southbound Barrington Road will close Wednesday between Center Road and Hassell Road. Once the new concrete pavement has been poured the second lane will reopen to traffic. One lane will remained closed through Monday, April 30, to give the concrete time to cure. Similar closures will be scheduled over the following two weeks to complete the repairs.
