Susana Ortega, 24, of Round Lake Park was identified Friday as the woman killed Wednesday in a car crash in Volo, according to the Lake County coroner's office.

Ortega suffered multiple injuries, an autopsy revealed. Toxicology test results are pending.

Ortega was driving a sedan west on Route 120 about 12:20 p.m. when she crossed into the eastbound lanes near Ellis Drive and struck a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old woman from Gurnee.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A GoFundMe account has been started in honor of Ortega, who had three children. More than $4,800 has been raised.

"She's worked her butt of to provide for them. She went above and beyond for her babies," a message read.

The page remembered her positive energy.

"If you were ever sad, Susie would just bring up your mood up instantly. She was the best sister, mother, and daughter anyone could ever ask for... but unfortunately god decided that it was her time and took her with him."
