10 injured in Buffalo Grove crash involving four vehicles

Ten people were injured in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Buffalo Grove, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. at Lake-Cook and Old McHenry roads, according to a Thursday news release.

Police and firefighters arrived to find multiple people with injuries, including one person who was extricated from a vehicle, authorities said.

Police said Saul Hernandez-Rivera, 39, of the 3200 block of South Pulaski Road, Chicago, caused the crash and was charged with driving on a suspended license, disobeying a traffic signal and failure to wear a seat belt.

The injured were taken to five different hospitals. Their conditions were not available Thursday morning.
