Lucky St. Patrick's Day in Lake Villa

A little luck of the Irish accompanied the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Lake Villa - always on Saturday, it actually fell on St. Patrick's Day.

The largest event of its kind in Lake County, the parade featured dozens of entries, including school groups, bands, Scouting groups, businesses and more.

As always, spectators were encouraged to bring donations of food that were collected along the route to help fill the rainbow caboose for the Lake Villa Township Food Pantry.

And, after the parade, the village hosted a corned beef and cabbage lunch, served at the Lake Villa VFW.
