Police: Man robs Glendale Heights bank and escapes on bicycle

Glendale Heights police are searching for a man who robbed a bank Wednesday morning and then fled using an unconventional getaway vehicle - a bicycle.

Police said the robber entered the TCF Bank at 2164 Bloomingdale Road through the front door around 9 a.m., approached a teller and demanded money. He left the same way he came in with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man did not display a weapon and no injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a white male around 40 years old who stands about 5 feet 10 inches and has a medium build. He was wearing a gray/green hooded sweatshirt or jacket with black trim, blue jeans, and dark-colored gym shoes with white soles.

Police said they believe the same man robbed a Schaumburg TCF bank on March 6.

Glendale Heights police and the FBI are investigating.

Anyone with information about the robber is asked to call police at (630) 260-6070 or the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
