Three new principals appointed in Wheeling District 21

Three new principals will join Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 next school year.

Michelle Friedman, a Frost Elementary special education teacher from 2003 to 2009, will be the new principal of Longfellow Elementary in Buffalo Grove. She left Frost to become an assistant principal in Deerfield Elementary District 109, and in 2016 became principal of Park View School in Morton Grove.

Jennifer Kiedaisch, an assistant principal at Park View School, will be the new principal of Whitman Elementary in Wheeling. She previously taught in Wilmette, Chicago and Jackson, Mississippi.

Kevin Olsen, currently the assistant principal of Cooper Middle School, will be the new principal of Riley Elementary in Arlington Heights. Olsen, a District 21 graduate, was a teacher and learning coach at Riley and Poe Elementary schools.

Friedman will be paid a base salary of $118,000 and Kiedaisch and Olsen $112,000 each. Their appointments are effective July 1.
