Police investigating fatal shooting in North Chicago
Lake County police are searching for the person who shot and killed a 29-year-old North Chicago man early Monday.
The victim, who was not identified by police officials, was shot while sitting in the passenger seat of a car in North Chicago, according to a news release issued Tuesday afternoon.
While the driver of the car was attempting to take the victim to a hospital, the car broke down. Police arrived minutes later and the man was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said Tuesday.
The shooting happened around 12:51 a.m. Monday in the area of Green Bay Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
