St. Charles liquor store robbed at gunpoint
Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a St. Charles liquor store at gunpoint Monday night.
The armed robbery occurred about 10 p.m. at One Stop Liquors, 1401 Prairie St., according to St. Charles police. An employee told officers the masked robber entered the northwest door, showed a handgun and demanded money.
After stealing an unknown amount of cash, the robber left the store, got into a car that was waiting in the parking lot and drove off on Prairie Street, officials said. Police searched the area but were unable to find the man or the vehicle.
The robber was about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build, police said. He was wearing a dark jacket, gray pants and a black mask.
