One dead, two injured in Zion home invasion
One person was killed and two others injured during a home invasion Friday in Zion, authorities said.
Zion police officers found three gunshot victims inside a residence in the 2800 block of Edina Boulevard about 1:40 p.m. Friday, police said in a news release Monday.
One female victim was flown by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The woman, identified as 36-year-old Kaleah Beville of Zion, died later Friday night, officials said.
A preliminary autopsy conducted Monday shows Beville died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Lake County coroner's office.
A second woman and a man were taken by ambulance to Condell, authorities said. Their condition was not disclosed by authorities Monday.
Zion Police Chief Stephen Dumyahn said Monday no one is in custody, and that detectives are working with members of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force on the investigation.
The investigation so far indicates the shooting was targeted event and there appears to be no threat to the general public.
