Elk Grove Township District 59 sets kindergarten registration event

Elk Grove Township District 59 will begin kindergarten and new student registration for the 2018-19 school year with an evening registration event from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22.

Registration will continue beginning Feb. 26 at each school from 9:30-11 a.m. and 1- 3 p.m. on school days.

Choice program options are available, including the Dual Language Program (Spanish/English) and Ridge Family Center for Learning. The registration deadline for these choice programs is March 14 and a lottery drawing March 16 is used if the number of applicants exceeds available slots.

A child whose fifth birthday falls on or before Sept. 1 is eligible to attend kindergarten starting in the 2018-19 school year. Parents should bring their child's certified birth certificate when registering their child for kindergarten.
