Wisconsin woman identified as victim in Grayslake fatal crash

The victim of a fatal crash in Grayslake has been identified as a 63-year-old Wisconsin woman, authorities said.

Katherine Foxe, of Sussex, died after the car she was driving Monday crossed the centerline on Route 120 and into oncoming traffic, authorities said. Foxe died of multiple traumatic injuries at 10:56 a.m., Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said.

Cooper said it is medically unknown why Foxe crossed the centerline in her Toyota Echo while traveling west on Route 120, about 100 feet from Belle Court.

Authorities said Foxe's car struck a Honda CRV traveling east on the roadway. The driver of the CRV was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with unspecified injuries.

Cooper said toxicology on Foxe is pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
