'Letters from the Heart' at Arlington Heights museum Feb. 10

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum will present a lecture titled "Letters from the Heart" from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the museum, 110 W Fremont St.

Dennis Depcik will share his story, recorded through letters, of an Army officer stationed in Europe and his sister-in-law's much younger sister. He describes how this pen pal relationship changed the girl from an "insignificant kid" to the most important person in his life, and the resulting relationship that grew from a high school girl's crush and a young man's reticence, to a marriage of 41 years and a love that stayed strong for a lifetime.

Tickets are $10 for Arlington Heights residents and $13 for nonresidents. Historical Society members receive a discounted ticket price of $8. Appropriate for ages 14 and up.
