Aurora man sentenced to 6 years for child sex assault

An Aurora man was sentenced last week to six years in prison for the sexual assault of a minor, the Kane County state's attorney's office said Wednesday.

Ervey Dominquez, 47, pleaded guilty on Jan. 25 to the charge of criminal sexual assault.

In court, Assistant State's Attorney Christine Bayer said that Dominquez assaulted the victim, whom he knew, between January 2011 and March 2014.

Dominquez must register as a sexual offender for life. He must also serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
