Student fees to increase in Libertyville schools

Student textbook and technology fees for the 2018-19 school year in Libertyville Elementary District 70 will increase to help pay for updated infrastructure, new software and technology devices.

Fees include textbook rental, technology and supply costs. The fee will be $125 for K-5 students; $225 for sixth- and seventh-graders; and $125 for eighth-graders. Current fees are $90 for kindergarten; $95 for grades 1 to 5; and $110 for grades 6-8.

The major boost in middle school fees will help pay for a program to give students Chromebook computers, according to the district.
