Arlington Heights Library official promoted

Arlington Heights Memorial Library administrator Mike Driskell has officially been named interim executive director for the next six months in lieu of the "acting" title he has had since September.

The recent promotion by the library board comes as the board works to fill the top administrative position on a permanent basis at the end of the six-month period. The process is expected to include accepting applications from other candidates, officials said.

Driskell, formerly director of administration, took the place of Jason Kuhl, who resigned Sept. 25 for "personal reasons" after five years at the helm. Kuhl begins his new job Jan. 29 as director of the St. Charles City-County Library District, which has a dozen branch locations in suburban St. Louis.
