Shooting leaves 22-year-old Aurora man critically injured

Aurora police said Saturday they continue to investigate a shooting late Wednesday that left a 22-year-old man critically injured.

The victim was shot just after 11 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Fourth Street, police said. He was able to run back to his residence about a block away, in the 1200 block of Pearl Street, where police found him inside with gunshot wounds.

The man was airlifted from an Aurora hospital to another suburban hospital in critical condition. He is expected to survive, police said.

Detectives recovered a gun from the Pearl Street address. They say they are working on several theories and motives.
