Park City man faces drug, gun charges

A Park City man faces gun and drug charges after a Lake County sheriff's Gang Task Force investigation into the illegal sale of firearms.

Luis C. Lopez, 23, of the 400 block of Sussex Court, illegally sold a firearm to a task force detective, authorities said. An arrest warrant was issued Jan. 12, and task force members conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Lopez was driving and found cocaine and marijuana, both packaged consistent with the sale of narcotics, authorities said.

Lopez was also found carrying another firearm and illegal prescription medications, authorities said. Charges against him include unlawful sale of a firearm and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Lopez was released after posting the required 10 percent of his $25,000 bail, authorities said.
