Man accused of using replica gun to rob Woodridge dry cleaner

A Naperville man has been charged with robbing a dry cleaning business earlier this month, Woodridge police say.

Patrolling Woodridge officers spotted a man at about 6 p.m. Jan. 3 inside Choice Cleaners, on the 3500 block of Seven Bridges Drive, using a replica handgun to rob the business, police said.

"For security reasons, they didn't want to just go in there and do the arrest," said Jim Hoff, the Woodridge Police Department's public information officer.

Police followed, pulled over the suspect's car and arrested Ryan James Dougherty, 27, of Naperville. He is charged with aggravated robbery and remains in the DuPage County jail.
