Girl Scouts will attempt cookie dunking record in Rosemont

Some 5,000 Girl Scouts, family members and friends will try to set a world record Saturday in Rosemont for most cookies dunked into milk at the same time.

The Guinness World Records attempt is part of the Girl Scouts' annual Cookie Kickoff rally before a Chicago Wolves game at the Allstate Arena. This year's event launches the 101st anniversary of the Girl Scouts' cookie sales.

Expected to participate in the cookie dunking are some of the top Girl Scout sellers of cookies, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana CEO Nancy Wright, and Kellogg Co. executive Wendy Davidson. Kellogg is the parent company of Little Brownie Bakers, one of two official bakers of Girl Scout Cookies.

The cookie dunking is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, as part of a daylong of activities including ice skating, music and the Wolves game at 7 p.m.
