Man charged in Kane County with child porn possession

A man faces charges he possessed and disseminated child pornography, according to Kane County court records.

Santos Reyna, 42, was being held on $400,750 bail at the Kane County jail. If he posts bond, Reyna is prohibited from using the internet, and is not to have any unsupervised contact with anyone younger than 18, including his own children, records show.

Reyna faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography, and two counts of reproducing, exhibiting or disseminating child pornography, records show.

According to Pingree Grove police, the Illinois Attorney General's office and Pingree Grove police served Reyna with a search warrant for possession of child pornography Thursday morning.

Police said the attorney general's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force had begun an investigation into Reyna's telecommunications usage and determined that it involved child pornography.

Police said the investigation has not revealed any danger to the community and that no contact has been found at this point to indicate Reyna had any personal contact with children. The investigation continues, police said.

A statement released by Pingree Grove police said, "The Pingree Grove Police Department partnership with the Attorney General's Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force are important tools that help us protect our community from individuals who prey upon children. This perpetrator could not of been apprehended without their assistance."
