Palatine police start enforcement crackdown

Palatine police started a traffic enforcement crackdown Monday that'll run through Jan. 2. Extra uniformed Palatine police officers will be on the streets conducting saturation patrols dedicated to identifying and arresting impaired drivers, as well as strictly enforcing speeding, mobile device and seat belt violations. Palatine authorities are performing the crackdown in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies statewide for the year-end "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.
