Arlington Heights village manager gets 8 percent base salary raise
Arlington Heights Village Manager Randy Recklaus is due to receive an 8 percent increase to his base salary, putting it at $205,348.
Mayor Tom Hayes characterized Recklaus' raise, approved by the village board this week, as a 5 percent increase, since Recklaus received a one-time contribution of $5,535 to his deferred compensation retirement account last year. That made his total compensation $195,570.
After being hired to run day-to-day village government operations in November 2014, Recklaus previously received 3 percent and 2.5 percent raises.
His contract technically runs until Nov. 10, 2018, though it also includes an automatic renewal for two additional years, through 2020.
