Des Plaines Park District to unveil plans for indoor pool

Des Plaines Park District will unveil its plans for a $9 million indoor swimming pool at the Prairie Lakes Community Center at a public forum next week.

The park district will show residents preliminary architectural renderings of the swimming pool from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the theater at Prairie Lakes Community Center, located at 515 E. Thacker St. The public is invited to view the drawings, ask questions and provide input on the project.

After the meeting, the park district will begin the design process and create additional renderings.

The park district plans to start construction in fall 2018 and complete the facility by fall 2019. The project will be paid for with $4 million in reserve funds and $5 million in bonds.
