Read and help Little City in Palatine

Palatine Public Library District's annual winter reading contest starts Friday, Dec. 15. Running through Wednesday, Jan. 31, the contest challenges participants to help those in need in the community just by reading. When all participants read a combined total of 5,000 books, Palatine Bank and Trust and Warehouse Direct each will donate $1,000 to Little City, a nonprofit based in the village that serves children and adults with disabilities throughout the Chicago area. All valid cardholders may participate in the winter reading challenge sponsored by the private Friends of Palatine Library organization.
