Will County man charged with murder of bartender
A Will County man has been charged with killing a woman found dead near Kankakee earlier this week, officials said Saturday.
Jeremy Boshears, 32, of Coal City faces three counts of first-degree murder in the death of Kaitlyn Kearns, 24, of Mokena, according to a news release from the Will County state's attorney's and sheriff's offices.
Kearns was reported missing Tuesday and had last been seen Monday at a bar where she worked on Joliet's East side. Kankakee County sheriff's detectives found Kearns' body Thursday in her 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was parked inside a pole barn in Aroma Park Township in Kankakee County. The Kankakee County coroner's office determined that she died from a single gunshot wound to her head.
Boshears remained in custody Saturday on $250,000 bond in Kankakee County, after he was charged Friday with concealment of a homicide, officials said. That charged will be dropped, officials said, and the case will be prosecuted in Will County, where a judge has signed a warrant that includes a $10 million bond. A court date has yet to be set.
