Two arrested on drug charges in Libertyville

A search warrant served in Libertyville on Tuesday led to two arrests and the seizure of 138 grams of marijuana, according to reports.

Justin M. Quist, 25, of the 700 block of Paradise Lane in Libertyville, was arrested and charged with unlawful cannabis possession, a Class 4 felony, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor, after law enforcement searched his house and found the drugs, equal to nearly one-third of a pound, along with associated drug paraphernalia, the Libertyville Police Department said Tuesday in a news release.

Another man, Luis M. Ramirez, 24, of the 500 block of Dublin Drive in Mundelein, was present at the time of the search and has been charged with unlawful cannabis possession, a Class B misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor, according to police. He also was cited for driving a vehicle on a suspended driver's license, police said.

Libertyville police helped execute the search warrant - the conclusion of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group - around 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to the news release.

Quist was transferred to the Lake County jail to await bond court, while Ramirez was released from the Libertyville Police Department after posting bond, police said.
