Des Plaines Park District previews Mohawk Park renovations
The Des Plaines Park District is hosting a forum Wednesday to discuss plans for the renovation of Mohawk Park.
The forum is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the River Room at Golf Center Des Plaines, 353 N. River Road.
The park district recently acquired property west of the existing park at 515 Lyman Ave. Plans including expanding the playground and recreational amenities, as well as adding open space.
Those who attend the forum can view drawings and a slideshow of recent park renovations and provide input on the future improvements.
The park district will then design and create renderings of the proposed options. Additional public input will be requested in late spring 2018, with the goal of starting the work in fall 2018.
